The IC-F8101 HF Land Mobile Transceiver is designed specifically for long distance radio communications. It operates on HF frequencies from 1.6 to 30MHIC-F8101_sepa_HM-193_SPz and transmits with up to 125W PEP (Peak envelope Power).

The IC-F8101 supports SSB, AM, CW and Data operating modes and has the latest Digital Signal Processor (DSP) technology for improvement in both transmitter and receiver performance. The Clear Talk function utilizes DSP to separate the noise from signals for clearer audio.

The Icom IC-F8101 has 500 programmable channels, 500 Selcall (Selective Calling and 500 ALE (Automatic Link Establishment) memories. BITE (Built-in Test Equipment Function) allows you to check the condition of the transceiver. It also includes three types of mute function, TX Power Protection, three programmable keys, a backlit display and multiple display modes. Other features include a PreAmp, Automatic Gain Control (AGC), timeout timer, noise blanker and a built-in self test. It has connections for a GPS receiver so you can send current position data to other stations, a USB port for connecting the radio to a PC, antenna connector and audio accessory connector.

Compact and durable, the IC-F8101 is sealed securely from potentially harmful elements and has been tested to MIL-STD-810-G standards and IP54 ratings for ruggedness. The connection cables and connectors are also IP54 water resistant.

Three different controller configurations are available to suit almost any installation that may be required

  • Controller attached configuration, ideal for standard desktop use or quick set-up in a field station.
  • Detached controller configuration, stow the RF unit in a place of convenience during in-vehicle installation or where space is at a premium.
  • Remote-controller microphone configuration, increases the user’s ability to operate more features of the radio safely, especially during mobile operation.
